For the past year or so, we've been working real hard on these games and sometime into it, we decided we were going to make iPad versions. The ones released so far are Monster Madness HD and Photohunt HD
I worked on Monster Madness HD, my most proudest game. designing and animating all the characters. The website does a great job at showing them off in the monster gallery!. Hopefully there will be footage soon online. Or you can purchase it at the iStore, tomorrow... I think...! What what! I make iPad games.

I look extremely happy in this photo.
I look pretty happy in this photo too.
In one of those photos, the smile was forced. Can you guess which one? It was the first photo. With my arms open and the sun setting in the background, you'd think it was legit. But to be honest, what you don't see is the thousands if not millions of Red Ants that called that beach, their home.
When in Hawaii, me, my brother and his co-worker went to the most west point of the island to watch the sun set. We had to go off-roading, to get there, which in it of itself was a harrowing experience... Never again...But when we got there, we realize the beach was smothered in Red Ants aka Fire Ants, you know the ones that if they bite you will cause excruciating paint and in some cases death.... So the entire time we had to keep moving, marching in place if you will. Tiresome ordeal. But a awesome sunset none the least. It was definitely a forced smile under some not so pleasant circumstances. Cool place though. If you ever do it. Bring a flame thrower...
However, the second picture... It's pure Bliss. Koko Head was one of the craters i planned to climb during my time in Hawaii and like Diamond Head, i knew i had to do it myself. What i didn't know was how crazy it was going to be. I wanted to see the sunrise, so i set out early for the climb. Woke up at 4 in the morning, hopped in the car and went. Too bad i had my GPS set for the wrong destination. Ended wasting a half hour going the wrong direction. When i finally got there however, it was still dark and there were no lights what so ever. But luckily i found my way.
Now you have to understand something about this crater. It's not a regular hiking path with dirt or gravel or what have you. Much like every other hiking experience in Hawaii, it has something to do with WW2. The trail to reach the top was a old railroad that some points reached a 90 degree angle. It's 1208 ft high. A long and most gruesome hike indeed. I probably stopped 20 times to catch my breath and rest, sweated buckets and definitely missed the crack of dawn... But i kept on trecking, being encouraged by all the soldiers who hiked it every morning. Probably ran into 50 of them coming down from the top. Some running down, which was ridiculous, some coming down bare foot on the rocky dirt and deteriorating wood planks on the railroad. There was also a bridge, midway, on the climb. It was still a railroad, steel beams and planks, but if you fell from it... You'd either crack your head open on boulders or most certainly break a few bones. It was kind of a tall drop...
Anyways, i'm certain that an hour had passed before i reached the top... And i could see it... I could see it all. I had made it. Me and God. I can't describe the feeling any better than that photo. It was pure happiness, minus the Red Ants. I stayed for probably 15 minutes at the top taking it all in, talking to other people who had made it up and it was nice. But like any thing, it had to end... I'd like to say the walk down was easy breezy. But that would be a lie. It was just as bad. My legs were dead for the next 3 days. lol.

The company i work for recently released a majority of the games we've been working on for the past year. And it feels good to have the product out there. For those of you who actually want to play any of these, go to your local bar and play it, or they might have a old version of our machines, request they buy the new software. I think that's how it works... That's the best i can do for you...
Anywho, I've had the pleasure of working on the following games for this software release.
Dino Whiz - Designed and Animated the characters, and a few art tweaks throughout the game
Monster Madness 2 - Designed and Animated the characters
Rock Mahjong - Created tile faces

Here are pieces i did of characters from a book series i've been highly obsessing over for the past 2/3 months. The book series is called, A Song of Ice and Fire. I was turned onto this from the tv adaptation that HBO put out of the first book, translated into the first season, called Game of Thrones. It's an amazingly well put together series, with amazing acting, costume design, set design, etc. EVERYTHING is awesome on the show. Its a loyal translation from an amazing book series. I'm probably going to draw more characters from the series in the future. Moving on. Its officially been a year since i started working at AMI Entertainment Network. I've learned so much about the industry, and i've learned so much about myself as well. Most of those lessons consists mostly with the same realization... I know nothing. lol
Seems to me that compared to my fellow workers, i'm a novice at life... And i must admit, my mother sheltered the hell out of my and my siblings... And it almost seems like an injustice, but ultimately, i guess its it depends on the point of view. I learned a lot this year that could have been learned 6-7 years ago. But, I feel wiser for it, but in my laughable wisdom, i know its folly to call myself wise at all.
Life lesson or career lesson, i'm taking this year with me to be one of the pillars for the journey ahead. I don't want to be all talk though, career wise, all the projects me and the team has worked on for the past year will be COMING OUT SOON! And i cannot wait for everyone and their grand mom to see what we've done. It's truely an exciting time ahead!

i was going for a spacey futuristic soldier girl. Doing the 4 concepts and then picking on and merging the rest of them in there... But it ended up looking more like Futuristic Mad Max... Which perfectly find with, i just need to fine tune the gear shes wearing. But look for the finished concept soon.

The magazine BRANDWEEK has published a article about the company i work for, AMI Entertainment, and there's a little art snippet in the 2 page spread that I've worked on! They asked me to do companies mascot, Bash - The Monkey, much like the Mad Men logo of the guy sitting in a hair facing away with, a cig in his hand. Same concept, except its a monkey, with a banana in his hand.
It isn't extremely impressive, but it is sleek and compliments everything else going on in the article. Although i can't wait to post all that i've been doing at my job, this will have to do for some time. However, i am extremely happy that my work is published in such a awesome marketing trade publication. Apologies for the low res, i was advised to not post a high res version of these online. However, the article basically goes over how far AMI has come as a company and where we are in the market today and the impact we have in the advertisement, music and casual gaming worlds, today. Here's the cover of the April 11,2011 issue of Brandweek! Woot Woot!

Really in love with this band lately. Coconut Records. This is their song West Coast. The only thing that separates this apart from a regular skateboard demo is the simple fact that he's in some type of stray jacket, and he's skating in a huge art gallery of some sort. Skateboarding as a performance art in this video. I dig it. Hope you enjoy too.

I spent 2 weeks on and off doing this piece and i must say its pretty rough around the edges and could probably go through several more revisions and polishes, but i think the purpose of these pieces aren't to create masterpieces. Nope, for this one i think i was experimenting with colors.
Although i'd like to think of myself as a pretty good artist, when it comes to colors, i do play it pretty safe. I'm just branching out and experimenting. And i think it came out awesome.
Hope you guys enjoy this as much as i enjoyed making it.

This video is super dope too. Might do a illustration of her next.
PS: Althouh this video doesn't have crazy special effects, it magic in the extremely simple but effective the visuals are in conveying the drama int eh lyrics. A broken home, in every room, there's a different story just because of the placements of certain objects. I'm not even talking about the obvious, but the chairs with the sheets over there. So genius.
The woman dancing with the stick in the powder is so memorizing. The room full of half empty glasses of water, thumping to the beat. The stairway where there s huge pile of plates and cups on the ground and peices still being thrown down the stairs. Such amazing imagery. I can't get enough. Or even the fast that Adele is sitting in a chair the entire video. Speaks volumes.
Personally, i don't think music videos, or movies in general need computer special effects to convey strong imagery. This video exceeds.
